Hello Everyone,

NSSC concluded the summer season with great swimming at the New England Open Championships hosted by NSSC at MIT! NSSC swimmers had an outstanding showing, finishing 11th as a team out of 47. Incredible performances were on display by Matt O'Brien (2nd -200 fly, 2:13.19) Annie Linland (winner of the C final, 100 back- 1:09.96), Craig Lewin (sectional qualifier 200 fly- 2:19.51), Emily Rookwood ( 100 backstroke- 1:12.24, 22nd overall as a 14 year old) Caroline Caliri, (100 freestyle (1:04.28) Amy O'Brien ( winner of the 13-14 100 Butterfly-1:08.48), Caitlin Brewer ( 100% best times and leadership expected of the eldest female swimmer- impressive!, 1:12.74 100 backstroke), Kathleen "Chubby" Grueter (100 breaststroke -1:24.20), Jeff "Muffin" Fiore (7 of 8 best times and huge relays swims! 2:32.74 200 backstroke), Jonathan Richman (1:10.38 100 backstroke), Lee and Stephen Chaing, who traveled home from China. Both boys had impressive 50 freestyle and helped our men's relays! Every NSSC swimmer posted best times this weekend!

The meet had over 500 of the fastest swimmers in New England, including Olympic trials finalist, National qualifiers, Division 1-3 college swimmers. This was one of the fastest meets our swimmers have seen, with New England records being broken and many swimmers qualifying for the US Open, and nationals! NSSC parents were incredible hosts and visiting teams were impressed with the fluid and efficient running of the meet. This was the second consecutive weekend of high caliber swimming that NSSC hosted! You have given the swimmers the best chance available to succeed, as coaches, we cannot ask for more! Great weekend, Great Season! Great Club!
